Chili Padi Assam Prawn Recipe


Cili Padi is a small and extremely hot chili variation. Often considered the hottest among all chilis due to is extremely fiery taste compared to normal types of chili. Chili padi is often used as an ingredient in food recipe dishes preparation from the South East Asia, namely Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia and Indonesia. Cili Padi is often known as Bird's Eye Chili for other regions in the world. Chili Padi Assam prawn is a very tasty dish and comes with a spicy and sour flavor.


Ingredients

30 Medium Sized Prawns
½ tsp Salt
½ tsp Sugar
1 Onion (Sliced)
2 tsp Assam paste
¼ Cup of Water
1 Red Chilli (Sliced)

Pounded

10 pcs Chilli Padi
2 cm Fresh Turmetic
3 Garlic Cloves

½ tsp Turmeric powder

Method

1. Season the prawns with sugar and salt for 10 minutes.
2. Heat up 3 tbsp of oil and fry the Pounded ingredients.
3. Add the sliced onions and stir fry till fragrant.
4. Mix in the Asam Paste and water. Bring to boil.
5. Put in the prawns and stir fry for 2 minutes. Cover and cook for 3 more minutes.
6. Add in salt, sugar and red chili slices.
